Wellness Exams

Semi-annual wellness exams focus on whole body care - oral health, muscle and body condition, preventive care, cancer screening and nutrition. Let's nip things in the bud before they become issues. Remember that pets age faster than us and need more frequent care because of this, especially geriatric pets.

Dental Care

Oral health is the cornerstone of the rest of our pets' health. Oral pain and infection can affect your pet's behavioral health, nutritional intake, and even his cardiovascular, liver and kidney health

Vaccinations

Lifestyle-appropriate immunizations are one of the safest and most effective means of ensuring that your pet is protected against the diseases that she will most likely be exposed to during the course of her life. Her risk of exposure to different diseases may change year to year, and we will discuss that with you. We vaccinate every three years for certain diseases and use only cat-friendly vaccines for our feline patients.

Anesthesia

Anesthesia is undoubtedly a scary concept for many pet owners, but rest assured that Wagnolia enlists state-of-the-art anesthetic monitoring equipment, medications and a dedicated technician to monitor every patient for every surgery. We complete preanesthetic blood work to ensure we've unrooted any potential issues before we administer anesthesia.

Behavior

Pets can experience emotional, social and psychological stresses just like us, but they manifest them differently from how we might. Sometimes a nuisance behavior needs veterinary involvement to resolve; never hesitate to ask if your pet has started to behave in a way that is causing you or him any stress.

Fear Free Practices

We take extra efforts - and time - to ensure that your pet has a good experience in the clinic. Pets have no idea why they are receiving injections, a nail trim, or even a blood pressure reading! We will work with you to create a positive experience for your pet every time it is in our care.

We promise to do our best to accommodate our patients when they are experiencing an emergency; please call us right away if your pet is experiencing an emergency and we'll help you figure out what to do.

Senior Care

We support you and your pet as they experience age-related changes.  Bi-annual exams and testing allow us to identify signs of aging sooner, and to provide both preventative and supportive care to our senior friends who are at higher risk of chronic pain and disease.  We stay current on the best available treatments, supplements, and medications to help owners provide their pets with the highest quality of life in their golden years.
